FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

SCOPE:
Oversee daily operation and preventative maintenance of utility systems, production/laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Monitor building automation, power generation, fire/security and housekeeping services to ensure compliance with FDA requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide daily monitoring of utility systems, production and laboratory equipment. This includes troubleshooting and required preventive maintenance for HVAC, compressed gases, emergency power generation, building automation systems, and telecommunications to minimize downtime.
• Perform instrument calibrations to ensure equipment is calibrated on schedule and in compliance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of complex process and analytical equipment as assigned.
• Maintain facility “as-built” drawings for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and security systems.
• Ensure that all facility support systems operate to a level compatible with cGMP manufacturing.
• Ensure all facility corrective and preventive maintenance is performed at the highest standard levels according to company policies and procedures.
• Oversee the daily operation of building automation systems for security, fire and environmental control systems.
• Assist supervisor in maintaining the department´s budgets and schedules, and with ensuring that performance requirements meet corporate objectives.
• Assist in defining safety policies and procedures to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and orderly fashion.
• Maintain and keep current facility equipment/calibration files including work orders, maintenance, and operational manuals for support documentation.
• Monitor 24/7 facility equipment and systems via established remote monitoring devices.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate Degree in related field with 5 to 8 years related experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or equivalent such as HVAC/electrical/instrumentation experience and 10+ years military experience maintaining core facility functions in biopharmaceutical.
• Ability and willingness to accurately troubleshoot and make timely decisions regarding unexpected situations such as utility and equipment outages.
• Experience in maintaining facility and equipment maintenance programs compatible with an FDA compliant organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are critical to this position.
