William Wall, M.D.
Dr. William Wall is a Professor of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine at
the University of Western Ontario and Director of the Multi-Organ Transplant
Program at London Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Wall is a graduate of Western’s
Medical School (1970), obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1974 after completion of his surgical
residency at Western. He was a Transplant Fellow for two years under the
supervision of Sir Roy Calne in Cambridge, England (1975-1976). He began
the Liver Transplant Program in London in 1977. Dr. Wall was President
of the International Liver Transplantation Society from 1996 to 1998 and
he continues to serve on the Executive of that organization. He was appointed
Director of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at London Health Sciences
Centre in 1997. Dr. Wall was recipient of the Gold Medal from the Canadian
Liver Foundation in 1998 for his contributions to liver transplantation
in Canada.
