After having met several important milestones including exciting clinical data, we are poised for new strategic objectives which will require significant new resources. Those new resources include a well-qualified SAP System Owner.

The SAP System Owner will be responsible for the overall management of the SAP system. The SAP System Owner will be responsible for the planning, support, and rollout of SAP project initiatives. This position will monitor day to day system operations and help troubleshoot SAP functional and technical issues. The SAP System Owner will work closely with Argos to understand their requirements, issues, concerns and will work to research and implement optimal systematic solutions to address their needs. The SAP System Owner will also work with hosting services partner to schedule and coordinate the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems.

This person will possess a strong work ethic, the desire to work in a collaborative team, and will possess a passion for creative thinking and problem solving. The SAP System Owner must possess the ability to analyze situations and provide problem resolution.


  • Work with users to define user requirements, functional requirements and technical specifications
  • Review and analyze solution enhancement requests to determine complexity and provide resource/cost estimates
  • Plan, organize and lead SAP improvement projects
  • Facilitate issue resolution for business end users
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact for SAP related issues/concerns between IT Department and Argos users
  • Liaise with hosting services partner to manage and maintain the SAP database
  • As required, provide daily support and troubleshooting to the user community on the use and best practices of the applications
  • Support the development of training materials and documentation, as well as provide training sessions as required
  • Interface with external consultants for third level support as necessary to deliver service to Argos
  • Define functional / technical requirements for change requests and interface with the development team for completion
  • Support SAP ECC upgrades and testing
  • Support and help develop power users in the business
  • Provide status reports to management for projects and end user support
  • Supervise activities of other personnel as applicable
  • Other duties as required

  • Solid and proven experience (5+ years) in a global SAP environment and ability to demonstrate a working, cross-modular knowledge of SAP.
  • Previous pharmaceutical experience is also required including a basic understanding of GXP as well as experience in performing IOQs using Good Documentation practices.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of the SAP ECC (MM, PP, WM, SD, FiCO) business suite
  • Experience installing and maintaining SAP ancillary systems running on Windows platforms
  • Strong problem management / resolution skills
  • Understands best practices for SAP
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members
  • Understands and has experience working with a validated SAP system
  • Possesses the ability to organize activities, set priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a requirement.
